Lucy’s Hometown
Lucy lives in Woudenberg, right in the middle of The Netherlands and just next to Utrecht, the hosting city of all Grand Tours. Starting at Lucy’s place, she can take you on endless type of rides. It can be a hilly ride across the Utrechtse Heuvelrug covering some of the climbs well-known by locals in the area, crossing the national park ‘Hooghe Veluwe’ or a countryside ride crossing the big rivers or even a combination of all three.
What Lucy says about her hometown area; “When I moved to The Netherlands nine years ago I had to discover new training roads, but that was made very easy for me because of the region that I live in. Not only did I find the perfect roads for my high intensity trainings and sprints here, but also scenic routes through the forests, passing the Pyramide van Austerlitz, riding up and down the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and many more landmarks that will be explored on my rides.
I feel very lucky to be living in such a popular place for cycling. Not just on the road but also MTB is extremely popular here in my region. I have lots of routes available for everyone’s specific desires and since I am now retired from professional racing, I also know ‘the places to be’ for the coffee lovers out there.”
