Michel’s Beach Experience
If you like new disciplines on the bike, then beach racing is probably high on your list. The Netherlands is definitely a top destination for beach racing with an endless west coast of wide sandy beaches. And yes, this happens to be one of Michel’s favorite cycling disciplines. You’re up for a truly unique cycling experience with Michel taking you to the Dutch beach. You can choose several beach towns to depart from: Scheveningen (The Hague), Katwijk aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee.
What Michel says about this experience; “We will start and finish in The Hague which is very near Scheveningen, at a very special and my favorite cycling cafe. Via a beautiful part of Scheveningen, we ride on to the beach, starting at the famous ‘pier’. With (most likely) a southwest tail wind we head in the direction of Katwijk, a traditional fishing town and we will drive up and down some of the beach entrances to have fun and learn how best to drive through the loose sand. We then head back on the smooth hard parts of the beach, ideal for cruising while you catch great sea views. Along the way there is lots of beach activity from kite surfers to even paragliders catching the dunes. Cycling on the beach is definitely a special experience that you will want to repeat!”
