Nijmegen Road
After my career I moved to Ewijk, a small city close to Nijmegen. Join me on my favorite roads here!
I will make a route in which we follow the ancient trail of the Romans or for modern art objects by the water that stimulate your imagination. The great thing is the diversity and obviously the famous 7 heuvelen weg (seven hills) won’t be missing. Over rolling hills, past vineyards and with a view of rivers: while cycling you see so much beauty in the Rijk van Nijmegen.
It has everything a cyclist is looking for: rolling landscapes, challenging climbs, beautiful descents and a fantastic forest area. It is connected to the ‘Reichswald’ in Germany. The whole area has some great hills and when you are up for a challenge I will take you for a nice but tough ride!
We can also integrate parts of the Land van Maas en Waal, the land between two of the biggest rivers in the country. I love the diversity here. Everywhere you will find evidence of the rivers that have left their mark after floods and dike breaches. On the bike you experience the past and the battle against the water. Enjoy the rivers that meander through the landscape with outdoor polders, blooming fruit orchards, duck decoys and tree-lined islands, or the historic castles where you can taste history.
During our ride together I would love to teach you the tricks of cycling and of course there will be some coffee and cake. We will have some nice chats and a lot of fun.
