Puck’s Hometown Road
Puck moved to this area one and a half years ago and has had more fun on her bike here than anywhere else she claims. Kesteren is located at the foot of the National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Here you will find one of the rare slightly hilly areas in the Netherlands, providing many exciting options for rides. To the east there is National Park de Hooghe Veluwe, which also has small hills and some beautiful diverse sceneries that sometimes seem very un-Dutch.
According Puck this is without a doubt the most beautiful area in the Netherlands and the terrain can be surprisingly challenging. Along the ways there are the very typical Dutch dikes, which give you wide views over the Rhine river and the stretched fields next to it.
There are plenty of options for lunch in the region, as well as good coffee and cake at De Proloog in Amerongen. Upon arrival back in Kesteren you can enjoy the best ice cream in the country at de IJsboetiek, where you can also enjoy lunch and a high tea.
