Rick’s Hometown
Go with Rick to his favorite roads around Sint Michielsgestel, close to Den Bosch, departure city of the Tour de France in 1996. Cycling has a long history in the province of North Brabant and this part of The Netherlands is famous for its ‘criteriums’, summer night races around the village church that celebrate each years’ Tour de France heroes. With Rick you will go for surprising rides through the province and a great day of inspiration.
What Rick says about his hometown ride; “Both on the road and off road through the endless woods around here, there are beautiful roads and paths. Time will fly by, winding and turning through the countryside of Brabant. In 2022, Brabant will turn red because la Vuelta visits our province. Then everyone will see the great cycling this region has to offer.
On our rides we will cross rivers and have views on the beautiful sand dunes. We will see lots of history too, passing castles and old land houses and we can also ride into the historical city of Den Bosch. It’s surrounded by no less than four rivers, is one of the oldest cities in The Netherlands and a pilgrim destination. We definitely have to take a look at the impressive St. Jan’s cathedral. In short, Brabant is a true cycling province with lots to discover. I could take you out for a week, easily.”
