Roos’ Hometown
Roos lives in the center of The Netherlands in Zeist which is just next to Utrecht, the one and only hosting city of all Grand Tours. From here she can take you on endless types of rides, all beautiful.
Zeist is in the heart of amazing nature and roads (and in the process of becoming a Unesco Geopark). Your adventure can be a hilly ride covering some of the climbs well known by locals in the area, a stunning countryside ride between Utrecht and Amsterdam or even a combination of the two, including some classic Dutch dikes as wel. Whatever direction you’re going, you will be in good hands with Roos.
What Roos says about her hometown ride; “The route is famous among cyclists in the Utrecht Area as “rondje Ledig Erf”. For decades, this route has been used every week as a sort of “wild” bike race. The route is optimized to cycle fast if you like, as it contains little traffic lights and avoids dangerous crossings. The route consists of some surprisingly diverse landscapes. We touch on the Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classics parcours and we finish with some kilometers of ‘dikes’ along the river Lek.
I like sharing my experiences from being a pro, and passing on skills. We could even practice sprinting or hill climbing, or how to ride in a peloton. And I can talk endlessly about the little things you can do to improve your (enjoyment of) cycling. After climbing the highest top of The Utrechtse Heuvelrug, De Amerongse Berg, we settle down at a famous cycling café for a well deserved stopover.”
