Have Stijn take you to his favorite roads in the beautiful surroundings of his hometown Ronse. From here you can cover the Flemish Ardennes, terrain known for its great cobble classics, or just as easy the ‘hell of the North’ cobbles towards the border and the notorious city of Roubaix.
With Stijn you may even be lucky enough to enter the famous cycling stadium on just an ordinary day and ride the track yourself.
If you’re up for Stijn’s more infamous favorites, he will take you into the Walloon part of Belgium into the stunning Pays des Collines area. An absolute delight for cyclists, Stijn promises.
What Stijn says about his favorite hometown rides; “From Ronse we head directly south into the Walloon border and discover the most beautiful roads of Pays des Collines. We ride further south and climb Mont-Saint-Aubert, with 147 meters the highest point in the region and see an unparalleled view of the entire Schelde valley.
From here I love to take my guests on flat roads towards the vélodrome of Roubaix. I have my ways to get you in the stadium. After feeling like the winner of Paris-Roubaix for a few laps, we drive back north to enter the heart of the Flemish Ardennes and tackle some slopes of De Ronde van Vlaanderen such as the Oude Kwaremont and the famous Koppenberg. At the end of the ride we can enjoy a nice local beer at the market of Ronse. This ride includes the best of everything my region has to offer. The ride can be adjusted to your taste and we can decide together for example if we only move into the quiet Wallonian region, or stay more on the Flemish roads.
The mountain biker in you can also fully indulge in and around Ronse. In Kluisbos, Bois d’Hubermont, Muziekbos and Brakelbos there are very nice singletracks. The off-road offer here is extensive. Depending on your wishes, we can opt for a technical or less technical course and there are many options in terms of difficulty. Just tell me your wishes.”
