The Alpes Vaudoises
Easily accessible by car, plane and train, the Alpes Vaudoises, with their characteristic chalets, green pastures and snow-covered peaks, are a cycling paradise. Between the vineyards of the Chablais and the foot of the Diablerets Glacier, we will find some of the most beautiful passes in Switzerland and flat loops in the Rhone Valley, all on roads with moderate traffic and excellent surfacing.
The region is also a mecca for world cycling as it is home to the headquarters of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and regularly hosts stages of the Tour de Romandie and the Tour de Suisse. In 2022 it will also welcome the Tour de France with a stage starting from Aigle and going over the Col des Mosses and the Col de la Croix.
The Alpes Vaudoises are a perfect destination for a long weekend of cycling alone, as a couple or with friends. A 4-day tour, created and guided by Alain who lives and trains in the area, allows you to discover little-known climbs, visit villages with an authentic atmosphere, and stop at the World Cycling Center for a coffee, a meal or a guided tour. All this while staying in charming mountain hotels and tasting delicious local specialties with excellent regional wines. Not forgetting the famous spa at Bains de Villars!
(Alain can also design a one day experience in the Alpes Vaudoises.)
